Mrs. Rafia Rehman
Head of Governance, Quality, Compliance & Information Systems
Rafia Rehman is a senior higher education leader with extensive experience in governance, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, risk management, information systems, and institutional assurance across higher education, further education, government, and technology sectors.
She is Head of Governance, Quality, Compliance & Information Systems at Oakswood College and a member of the Senior Management Team. She provides strategic leadership for governance, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, risk management, information systems, and institutional assurance, supporting institutional effectiveness, continuous improvement, and regulatory readiness.Rafia works closely with the Board of Governors and Academic Board to strengthen institutional assurance, strategic decision-making, and continuous improvement across the College.
She has led major governance, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation initiatives, including the development and enhancement of ERP, MIS, and institutional reporting systems to strengthen organisational intelligence and evidence-based decision-making. Rafia has played a leading role in developing Oakswood College’s governance and regulatory assurance framework, including preparations for Office for Students (OfS) registration, policy development, risk management systems, and institutional quality assurance processes.
She also serves as Board Secretary to the Board of Governors, Chair of the Quality & Standards Committee, Chair of the Student Experience & Welfare Committee, and the College’s Prevent Single Point of Contact (SPOC).
Prior to joining Oakswood College, Rafia held senior quality assurance, programme management, and academic leadership positions within the higher education sector and worked in national quality assurance and process improvement roles at the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), contributing to CMMI Level III and ISO 9001 quality improvement initiatives.
Rafia holds an MBA in IT for Business, a BSc (Hons) in Information Systems, and a Diploma in Education and Training. She also holds a four-year Diploma in Islamic Studies. Her professional qualifications include PRINCE2® Foundation and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certifications, complemented by continuing professional development in governance, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.She is currently working towards Principal Fellowship of Advance HE (PFHEA).
She is also the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Al Haramain Foundation, a UK-based educational charity dedicated to providing Islamic education for women and children, alongside wider community development initiatives.
